Next year will be my last year of Game design and I'm left thinking what's next. We've learned about everything we need to learn about game design last year, all I really need to do is actually finish a playable game. It's proven to be difficult as of late to even get started on a game let alone keep it stable. Right now I'm looking to make Strict Parents Simulator again from the ground up with models made by me, but first white boxing because I'm not used to blender yet and I'm not the most confident 3D modeler. The first thing I need to do is nail the code and make sure everything is air tight, everything works, and I can play the game properly. I also need to make sure all colliders actually function, what I did in the old build was making the individual parts of the room separately so this time around, the room layout will all be made in the same 3D file so I don't have to worry about collision issues. I have three enemies I have to make: Father, Mother, and Mr Hopkins. Father patrols the outside of the players room at a slow pace, at times he will slowly open your creaking door to check if you're asleep. Mother patrols around like Father but a lot faster, there will be a sound queue outside your door before slamming it open with no hesitation. Mr Hopkins is your stuffed animal bunny sitting on your bookshelf, it's dark so you mind plays tricks on you and you start to see Hopkins turn into a monster, flash your flashlight on the third phase to stay safe. You can stay safe from the Mother and Father by fake sleeping in your bed, although you can't stay in the bed forever because of Hopkins and the Sleepy Meter. The player will have a sleepy meter on their hud and if it is full you instantly fall asleep. The goal is to stay up from 9pm to 6am because you are a rebellious pre teen with weird monster parents. But I need to take it one step at a time, not try and rush things and make this game playable and fun this year.
