What I hope to learn this year is to learn more elements to making video games. The past two years were all about using software that can be used for logos and character sprites, and I hope to learn more tools in the upcoming class. Throughout my life I have had some ideas for games that I thought were really cool, like horror games or adventure games. The only thing stopping me making these games were the know what, how to program, make sprites, make set pieces, controls, everything to do with starting a game. When I started game design I tried out a free game maker called Game Maker 2 by Yo Yo games, and I was instantly lost in a second, when I saw "easiest Game maker" I guess I took that too literal. This year I want to learn maybe a game making software or more tools to help me make my own games. I hope to be a indie game developer as a side job just until and or if it takes off and to even think about making games I need to be familiar with a game making software. I am already familiar with pre producion, production, and post production from first year and I know how to use Photoshop, illustrator, and premier well with some being more important then others. I know how to make a background or set piece from a 2D game which is important since I want to focus mainly on 2D games. All that's really missing is a game making program I'm familiar with and all the programming know what. The reason I'm staying with game design is to learn to design games, as of course others are doing so I hope to make my games and possibly make a living off of it
