Color in art or any media can bring what you make to life by showing the consumer how to feel about a character, an environment or a product. The color choice on a character is important in establishing what kind of character they are, for example if you put dark colors on a monster or menacing figure, this will tell the average consumer to associate them with the bad guys. This won't always be the case as some protagonists and heroes were colored in dark colors, these dark colors on a protagonist could symbolize a dark past, immoral actions committed by them, or others. In a video game, color in a environment can indirectly tell the audience how to feel about the place. if you have a port town with low saturated colors, then the player or audience might feel a bit of unease, depending on the genre of game. If you want to instill horror then using low saturated and dreary colors can prove effective. if you're trying to sell a product or grab peoples attention, bright colors and an interesting logo can attract people to your product. if your art lacks color, it's incomplete and is lacking an extreme amount of detail. Color is what brings a world to life ad makes people a little more interested in your product or video game world
