A Little about Me, Judah Free
I got into art when I was about 6 years old, an comic book which I was obsessed with called Bone by Jeffery Smith. Bone is what really got me interested in drawing, making comics and most importantly Fantasy. What's there not to love about fantasy, the fights, the creatures, the journeys, it was all something that I wanted to live in, so I started making comics based on the Bone comics. In Freshmen year, I didn't have any art program and my graphic pen I used for my tablet broke, so I started drawing on paper and some of my best ones that I'm the most proud of, check them out on the bottom of this page.
Sophomore year rolled around and it was mostly focused on 3D modeling, which was fine for the most part although some projects were very frustrating and took weeks for me to complete. I got a new pen for my graphics tablet and have been practicing digital art, although I still believe my best work is on paper, I am proud of most of my digital art and I think old ones still hold up which is a good thing if I ever want to make a video game. Junior year was focused on Unity aka actual Game Design, well it didn't start like that. We mostly worked on the three phases of game design: Pre production, Production, Post production, all of which are important to game design of course. But going through it all, I realized how hard and how frustrating making a game is, not everything will be apart of your vision and not everything will go smoothly, you always hear about how hard it is to make games and the only way for all that to sink in is to experience the whole progress. I've always dreamed up ideas but never thought of the struggle of getting to said game, this year was definitively a wake up call (also working at home because quarantine sucks too) |
